Simply Awesome!

September 21 was the celebration of Armenia's 15th Anniversary of Independence. The day was full of activities and kicked off with a military parade in Republic Square. It was absolutely awesome. Troops filled the square representing Armenia's various military branches. Armenia's Defense Minister Serge Sargissian inspected the troops. Mig 29 military jets did flyovers complete with releasing red, blue and orange smoke. Attack helicopters, armored personnel carriers, surface to surface and surface to air missiles were all on display. Houry described it best in saying that attendance at the parade was worth a trip to Armenia in and of itself. I will post a few pictures of the impressive hardware and scene from Republic Square.

I can only say that the feeling of pride in our tiny nation was overwhelming. We watched most of the parade from the steps of the Foreign Ministry.
